Theme: Preserving the Legal Profession for Tomorrow

The Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch, is proud to announce its much anticipated Law Week 2025, a week-long celebration of thought leadership, legal innovation, and professional development, themed “Preserving the Legal Profession for Tomorrow.”
The event kicks off on Friday, 11th July, with a Press Conference and Jumat Service, setting the tone for a week filled with insight, reflection, and impact. On Sunday, 13th July, members will gather at The Bar Center for a Church Service and Thanksgiving.
The week formally opens on Monday, 14th July, with an exclusive Opening Cocktail at 6:00pm—graciously sponsored by Pinheiro LP and strictly reserved for registered members at The Bar Center.
The flagship session comes up on Tuesday, 15th July, at the prestigious Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, where Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), will deliver the Keynote Address at 9:00am on the topic: “Nation Building: Our Role as Lawyers.”
The Afternoon Session (1:00pm – 3:00pm) will shine a spotlight on Young Lawyers, exploring strategies for navigating the legal profession with resilience and clarity.
Later that evening, the venue will again come alive with the Law Week Dinner at 6:00pm. Dress code is traditional attire.
The conversation continues on Wednesday, 16th July, at Providence Hotel, with the Morning Session exploring “Future-Proofing Legal Practice: Innovation, Ethics, and Sustainability,” and the Afternoon Session dedicated to robust engagement between the Bar and the Bench.
The grand finale holds on Thursday, 17th July, featuring the prestigious Alao Aka-Bashorun Memorial Lecture, themed “The Fall in the Standard of the Legal Profession: Who Do We Blame?” beginning at 10:00am, also at Providence Hotel.
Throughout the week, a distinguished lineup of resource persons, senior advocates, judges, and experts will lead sessions and panels, offering critical insight into the future of the legal profession in Nigeria and beyond.
