
The Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch, proudly hosted the 21st Anniversary of Fawehinmiism and the Gani Fawehinmi Annual Lecture 2025 on January 15th, 2025, at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja.
Themed “Bretton Woods and the African Economies: Can Nigeria Survive Another Structural Adjustment Program?”, the event brought together distinguished speakers, panelists, and members of the legal community to deliberate on Nigeria’s economic challenges.
Key highlights included:
- A keynote address by Prof. Ademola Popoola, former Dean of the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University.
- Thoughtful contributions by panelists such as Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, and Founding Director of WARDC.
- Panel discussions also featuring Comr. Bala Zakka and other experts.
- HH Dr. Mohammad Sanusi, Chairman of the occasion, delivered a compelling address.
- Mr. Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, SAN, former NBA President, provided valuable insights as a panelist.
The event was a resounding success, with participants commending the branch for its dedication to fostering impactful dialogue.
